During this important workshop Joe Courtney, a meteorologist from the Bureau of Meteorology, will provide a 15-minute update on the science of climate change. He will also be available to answer your questions: What
is the latest on air and sea temperatures, sea levels, ice extent and extreme events? How is Australia and more specifically Perth being affected? Is it really a climate crisis? Is there any good news? What are credible sources of information to use?

David Wood from Einstein First science UWA, will then provide a 45-minute workshop on practical climate science examples including ‘how solar panels make electricity’, ‘making coal’ and ‘vibrating molecules’, ‘CO2 absorption’ and ‘re-emission’ activities.
